A taut romantic thriller centered in our Nation's Capital. Bill Toomey, a deputy White House press secretary for President Lucky Bogart, struggles to find his backbone and to win back his estranged wife--television anchor Wendy Standish. Wendy dumps Bill when he fails to confront a maniac who tries to kidnap her. Suffering from despair, the press spokesman loses his will to live until a suave, sophisticated visitor from another universe named Bob shows up at the White House bearing gifts for mankind and a second chance for the down-and-out presidential spokesman.
Bob is a dapper visitor who sounds remarkably like film legend Cary Grant. He has an immense intellect housed in a basket-ball size head that is topped by an olfactory stalk. Bill nicknames the visitor "The Onion Head."
Like all denizens of Washington, the alien has a hidden agenda, and it includes Wendy, who is swept off her feet by the dapper space traveller. Bill learns that the attraction is fatal and it's up to him to rescue Wendy from Bob's mesianic influence and simultaneously to save the world.
Bob begins to make the world into a paradise and he has most earthlings as his allies. For Bill, one of a small cadre who sees through the alien's benevolent mask, , it becomes hell on earth as he fights to keep himself and his family from being murdered.
Written by a genuine White House correspondent, the novel gives you a view of Washington seldom seen by tourists.

I honestly couldn't put this down, I skipped lunch. I was constantly imagining what I would be doing if placed in the same situation. I felt like I was right along side the main character, Bill. I caught myself a few times bobbing and weaving as I read this, trying to avoid the onion heads. A great read!!Product details
